General Symptoms:
There are several types of pituitary adenoma tumors; the most recurrent of them are craniopharyngiomas, Rathke’s cleft cysts, and adenomas. The relevant signs and symptoms vary from persistent headaches and vision impairment.
Applicable Diagnosis
The patient may have to undergo one of the following tests:
- Endocrine evaluation
- MRI scan
- Petrosal sinus sampling
- Visual Field Acuity Test
Necessary Treatments
The main objective and obligation on the part of neurosurgeons are to pull up the very existence of the tumor from the pituitary gland. The patient’s hormone levels are re-established through medications. However, the neurosurgeon may have to perform various treatment procedures such as surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and endocrine therapy, either separately or in combination.
